When I saw these… I thought I had to get them!

This type of candy has been one of my favorites since I was a kid, which also means that I had moosepectations.

One of them being… it moose be tasty!

Also, it’s a product of Mexico. Interesting…

When I opened the bag, I was unimpressed by the sugar covering the candy. It’s not clear on the package that it’s covered with it, but ok. Whatever.

The candy pieces were also a bit smaller than moosepected, but that’s not an issue.

Finally…. the taste.

Orange ones do taste like orange. A little bit sour.

Green ones taste like apple, also a little bit sour, but less so than the orange ones.

Now the red and… less red? ones are supposed to be cherry and strawberry, but I really couldn’t tell which is which just by looking at them. The taste difference is also only slight… Difficult to say which is which after eating them.

Blue ones are named as blue punch… clearly, that’s not a fruit or vegetable… so what is it??? Cannot be identified by tasting it. Just… something… Not a bad taste though. I guess.

VERDICT: Didn’t meet any of my moosepectations. Not really anything special. I’ve had much better tasting candy before, including other candy of this type. Definitely not worth it for the price paid! Nearly 15 ringgit!

Rowntrees Randoms

When they say randoms… they truly mean it!

I saw animal shaped gummies and other random stuff like a top hat, palm tree, sunglasses, padlock, clock, some stuff I could not identify…

The fruity taste is nice and strong. Sweet, of course. I mean, it’s candy after all. But, I suppose, a better way to say it that the taste feels more natural than most of other brands I had my hooves on. They do promise on the package that there are no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives in the gummies.

VERDICT: Honestly? It’s better than the Haribo Supermix I’ve tried. I recommend this to gummy enthusiasts.

Rowntrees Pick & Mix

This one was even more mooseventurous!

I opened the pack and was like… I don’t know what I’m looking at!

Pretty random in here too, but no animals or other unidentified objects. Just some round and square, and fruit (at least I think those are fruits?) shapes in different sizes. Some covered with sugar or whatever that stuff is.

The taste is also good and feels naturally fruity. Turns out, not all of them are gummies. Some are more like… I don’t know… Skittles? Or the fruity Mentos, just softer. That kind of consistency.

Overall, I’ve identified three distinct kinds of candy in the pack: bigger, fatter and rounder gummies with some extra covering, smaller fruit shaped gummies, and square and the smallest candy that’s harder but still chewy.

Okay… according to the package, it’s tooty frooties, fruit pastilles, and fruit gums.

VERDICT: I like the small squares candy the most, but I found that if you do as they say, “Pick & Mix”, it tastes best. It’s a nice snack.

I’ve also wondered… what the fur is or are Rowntrees? Yeah, it’s a brand. I knew that much. But since Google didn’t show me any trees or anything else, I guess that’s all that it is. 🤔

Moose Tries New Nomz: Haribo Supermix

On my way home, I’ve stopped by the supermarket to buy something. Don’t remember what it was, but I also found mooseself in the sweets section.

I’ve noticed some new Haribo gummies that I haven’t tried before, so I decided to go for it!

As the title says, it’s a Supermix—a mix of different gummies. Different colors, shapes, flavors and consistency.

I saw the shapes of bottles, sheep, some weird humanoid thingy and ice cream. I thought the sheep were grapes at first. I guess it’s the fluff.

The bottles were all white, soft and had a creamy taste. The humanoid thingies were more hard and in a few different flavors. Both sheep and ice cream shaped gummies were a mix of white, soft creamy taste at the back and different flavored soft gummy consistency at the front.

On the back of pack, they call the bottles smooth, ice cream and sheep are creamy, and the humanoid thingies are squishy. *shrugs*

I suppose I agree with those descriptions as well.

VERDICT: It’s nice, but there are much tastier options out there.
